Cheltenham International Jazz Festival 2
- 7 May 2001
The sixth Cheltenham International Jazz Festival looks set
to be the biggest and brightest of all the festivals hosted
to date in the beautiful Regency architecture of the "Capital
of the Cotswolds". Established big-name international superstars
like Bill Wyman and Ray Brown share the bill with superstars-in-the-making
like US saxophonist Chris Potter and pianist Brad Mehldau. The
Festival once again will introduce relatively new names to the
British jazz audience such as the incredibly talented Swedish
pianist Esbjorn Svensson whose new album currently heads up
the Swedish pop charts.
